TOWNSHIP AREA

A huge skiing area is on the town side of the mountain between Wombats Ramble and the Maze. This includes fantastic beginners runs as well as the advanced slopes of the Summit

Some of these areas are very good to learn skiing in tree's. or just practice your skiing on gentle wide runs. Wombats ramble for many people will be where they first ski from the top of a mountain to the bottom. I use Wombats to train people with a disability to ski.

Wombats Ramble starts from the mid way point of Panorama, your ski instructor will show you this and with the discount first time skiers tickets available this is where you will head. It is a long steady run with some nice bends and turns to keep you in practice.

HOMETRAIL, WOMBATS AND THE BOWL

Off of Wombats are many small trails through tree's that meet up with the Last Hoot. some of these are great for kids to build on their skills but I recommend they have a helmet on. Last Hoot is a wider and steeper run that can be a lot of fun, watch for the sections that cross slower trails.

The lower section of the Last hoot gives the choice of skiing to the left and skiing under the Halley's lift or right and coming out on Wombats.

for the more advanced skiers the summit area will be a challenge to you with the advantage of being one of the most picturesque areas for skiing in Australia. On one side of the summit RHS from the top you have a nice drop that is groomed with a winch cat at night. On the LHS from the top is a race course area that is used for the Summit Masters mogul competition, Australia's premier bumps race.

The view from the top of the Summit is amazing, some other runs in this area are the area below eagles lift for the more advanced plus many runs between eagles and the summit are a lot of fun.

At the end of the day there is the home trail to get you back to your lodge and in front of a warm fire with a drink and good company. Behind my kids in the picture below you can see the home trail and some of those other runs I mentioned.
