The Maze is the
advanced skiers play ground, its not an area for hero's or people
with only a few days experience. In saying that its an area where
the down hill skier gets to experience the serenity that is
normally reserved for the cross country skier.
There are many obstacles in the maze including creeks, the aqua
ducts and hidden bushes and rocks so be very careful. If you get
in trouble help can be found at the International Poma or Gully
Lift. Never ever ski the Maze alone, its just not worth the risk.
THE
MAKE, A SECTION OF THE OFFICIAL FALLS CREEK TRAIL MAP
The Maze starts at
the top of the International Poma or near the top of Summit, its
the area away from the town past the Inter Poma in the trees.
There are many trails all of which are reasonably well marked and
easy to find.
When you arrive at
Falls Creek the first thing you see is the maze. The most popular
runs are Wishing Well and Roller Coaster. The top section is
quite easy but it gets steeper towards the bottom, its similar to
what you see on International behind Gebi's but not groomed nor
compacted and very much narrower.
REBEKAH
RESTING HALF WAY DOWN ROLLER COASTER
The picture above
shows a typical Maze trail, its Roller Coaster and this is the
second furthest from the town with only the Wishing Well beyond
it. Remember one thing however before you tear into there with
your Kids, Rebekah might only be 8 years old when this shot was taken but this
was her sixth
skiing season, she is a very advanced and skilled skier.
